Why are we really throwing this party?
First answer would of course to get our name out there. The community is small and there are a lot of really good vendors already. We do have a bit of a niche, in the sense that our stuff are both one of a kind and also up-cycled from existing clothing items. We offer one-off pieces; that can either be our saving grace or our undoing but time will tell.
We also have two other motives:
One, to bring together a group of people that inspire us in our design world. From ATS dancers with their breathtakingly detailed costuming to intricate melodies of Persian classical music, gorgeous Baroque period styling, sassy and playful Burlesque, delicate art of body juggling, creativity of Tribal Fusion Belly Dancing, intensity of Flamenco, Coquettish nature of traditional belly dance, earthy vibe of Balkan music, sweetness of Persian dance, and beauty of words and poetry and stories ... they all inspire us every day.
The wonderful artists who have accepted our invitation to attend our party ... every single one have been inspiring us in one way or another. There were more of course but simply not enough time in one night to have them all.
Perhaps I should take a detour now to thank the generosity of these artists for donating their time and talent to make this night memorable. We can only hope that the good vibes of the evening will reflect back on their lives ten folds.
The second reason behind it all is to give meaning to life after a devastating event like stroke. We have already proven that and for that the party has already been a success without even happening yet!
So, whomever joins us that night
will be sharing in these joys with us.
Life is good when you get to do what you love. It is even better when there are many reasons other than making money behind the work - we already feel like winners since two out of three reasons are gonna happen baby!
And oh yeah ... the third reason? Its a business after all so lets sell these beauties so they can go off in the world again and fulfill their destiny. :D
