When we set out to have a launch party, it was clear to us from the beginning that we will also be trying to raise money for our cause. It took several weeks to register officially with The Heart and Stroke Foundation and to explain the reasons behind our choice.
In the weeks that followed and we got closer to the date of party, everything started coming together beautifully.
Jackey Kane worked tirelessly to ensure we had all our questions answered, had all the publications and money boxes we needed and we even had access to help.
We were assigned a volunteer, Jim who ended up staying at the event on his poor feet all night. Diligently collecting money and answering any questions anyone had.
We asked for two money boxes and even though that surprised Jacky we had a feeling one would not be enough. We knew in our heart that our guests, chosen and invited carefully would be a generous bunch and boy we were NOT disappointed. :)

for Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC (www.heartandstroke.bc.ca). WOW! Considering there were only about 100 people in attendance this is a fantastic sum!
Thanks to every single guest who opened their heart and their wallet and donated while attending Scheherazade Banoo's launch party on October 16th, 2011. This was certainly the icing on the cake.
